Knauf Joint Filler

Mineral Wool

Knauf mineral wool is Class A non-inflammable building material composed of mineral wool fibre. It has excellent fireprotection, thermal insulation, sound absorption and noise reduction capacity, therefore widely applied in partitions, liner walls and ceiling systems.
 

Applicable scope:
- Inner partition system with high requirement for fire protection and sound insulation
- Liner wall system for thermal insulation in outer wall
- Ceiling system with high requirement for fire protection and thermal insulation
- Thermal and sound insulation of steel roof and outer protection wall

- Thermal insulation
Micro air cavity is formed by numerous mineral wool fibre cutins, so the thermal conductivity coefficient is very low. Such micro cavity can retard the flow of hot air to reduce convection heat transfer, meanwhile, prevent the entering of radiation heat. Adoption of Knauf mineral wool for thermal insulating liner wall in outer wall can reduce the cold/thermal loss of wall by over 70%.
- Sound absorption and noise reduction
Knauf mineral wool has multiapertures composed of fine fibres on surface and its interior is connected to the absorption structure of high porosity. As the mineral wool fibre has relatively high density and bears better low-frequency absorption capacity than glass wool, it is a kind of economical and effective material for sound absorption, noise reduction and elastic damping.
- Fire protection
Knauf mineral wool has a welding temperature of over 1000°C, so it is able to maintain the stability of physical and chemical properties in case of fire or high temperature, resist high-temperature shrinkage, and will not easily cause ineffectiveness of fire prevention structure due to burning through, cracking, warpage and collapse. It belongs to Class A non-inflammable building material.
- Non-corrosiveness
Knauf mineral wool shows alkalescence and contains few soluble chloridions, so it won’t cause corrosion to lightweight steel stud or other steel components

Knauf Glass Wool

Knauf glass wool product is a kind of material manufactured by adopting advanced process and technology to make melted glass fibrosis.
